Global Science & Technology One of Three Companies Awarded NOAA's Largest Science Support Contract

Greenbelt, MD — Global Science & Technology, Inc. (GST) is proud to announce it is one of three small companies awarded the Scientific and Technical Support Services Next Generation Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (Sci-Tech NG IDIQ) contract for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The Sci-Tech NG IDIQ is NOAA's largest scientific and technical support services contract designed to be used throughout the agency. The GST team will harness its comprehensive management and technical solutions expertise to support the multiple science challenges associated with the Sci-Tech NG IDIQ. The three contracts combined have a maximum value of $550 million over five years.

The GST team will be given an opportunity, through the issuance of task orders, to support NOAA's five line offices: Satellite and Information Service, National Marine Fisheries Service, National Ocean Service, National Weather Service, and the Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Research.

The work done under the contract will benefit NOAA in several ways. For example, it will help NOAA get the most out of the data from its operational satellites, leading to improved quality of short- and long-term weather and climate predictions and warnings.

The science-focused team lead by GST includes:

Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) – Breadth, depth, and quality of science experience, SAIC is a FORTUNE 500® scientific, technology and applications company. Its approximately 45,000 employees and facilities worldwide will enable the GST Team to address NOAA's needs across the nation and internationally.

Oceaneering International, Inc. (OII) – With extensive marine operations experience to support NOAA coastal and deep ocean research needs, OII operates the world's largest fleet of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), supporting a full spectrum of inspection, scientific research, archaeological, and search and recovery needs at depths of up to 6,000 meters.

Ocean Associates, Inc. (OAI) – Highly experienced in living marine resource research and management for fisheries and protected resources and their habitats, and in aquaculture programs. OAI has nation-wide expertise in all supporting disciplines for the entire NMFS mission from biology, oceanography and economics to engineering and anthropology.

ReefSense, Pty Ltd. – ReefSense, Pty Ltd. provides expertise in the field of tropical marine remote sensing and oceanography stretching back to 1987. The breadth of experience is large, including most aspects of environmental remote sensing and hydrodynamic modeling. Collectively, staff also has extensive field experience in the use of in situ remote sensing and oceanographic instruments. ReefSense supports the NOAA Coral Reef Watch (CRW) program, and has since 2006.

The GST Team also includes a network of 29 universities and 14 expert consultants.
