Senior Systems Engineer, NOAA, Asheville, NC

Global Science & Technology, Inc (GST) a growing high technology company, is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer for a NOAA project located in Asheville, NC.   Help us support the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA’s) effort to improve our understanding of climate change and its potential impact to the nation and the world.

GST will provide a relocation allowance for qualified individuals.

Job Description:
Serve as Systems Engineering lead on a new project in NOAA Climate Data Center that will develop a program to produce Climate products. The challenge is to identify requirements, potential products, and algorithms and develop a system that will move climate data from research to operations making climate data and products available to users. The Senior Systems Engineer provides systems engineering and integration support to assess, plan, coordinate, schedule and execute projects through system development.

Required Skills:

• Must have excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must have the ability to manage multiple on-going projects simultaneously
• Must be well organized
• Must be well versed in System Engineering methodologies and geospatial data systems.
• Helpful, but not necessary, is experience working for NOAA, NASA or USGS

Required Education (including Major):

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in an engineering, science or related field.
• Must have a minimum of 7 years related program operations or enterprise data systems experience
