For example, it will help NOAA get the most out of the data from its operational satellites, leading to improved quality of weather analyses, short and long-term weather predictions and warnings, and climate trends and variability’s.
The contract will also provide science and technical support that will assist in promoting sustainable fisheries and to prevent lost economic potential associated with overfishing, declining species and degraded habitats. Ultimately, it will also provide the research foundation for the complex environmental systems that support our planet, to create better forecasts, earlier warnings for natural disasters and a greater understanding of the Earth.
