
Systems Administrator/SAN
Position Summary: GST is currently seeking an experienced
system administrator to fill an opening in Suitland, Maryland. The system administrator will work as
part of a team that maintains and develops an enterprise-wide system for
archival of environmental data. The system administrator will analyze and help
design management information systems.
The analysis will be done following established processes and being a
team player is an important aspect of this position. This role will require comprehensive knowledge of the
organizationŐs hardware, software, and network components.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities: Include,
but are not limited to the following:

Unix/Linux System
Administration
- Strong troubleshooting techniques
- Security
conceptsá
- Networking
á
Research, analysis, and
evaluation of hardware solutions.
á
Preparation of technical
implementation plans that provide integrated solutions, including actions,
milestones, and timelines required for complete solutions.
Job Requirements
Qualification/Requirements:
á
Five years of applicable
experience w/Unix/Linux System Administration/SAN
á
Strong research,
analysis, and communication skills
á
Comprehensive knowledge
of operating systems, computing platforms, and systems architecture
á
Experience with current
technologies and, where required for the task, emerging technologies.
á
BachelorŐs degree in
Computer Science of Information Systems
á Five years of related experience, including
military training, can be considered in lieu of a BachelorŐs degree.
