Goddard Space Flight Center Direct Readout Laboratory (DRL)

GST plays a key role in the development of technologies in the NASA/GSFC Direct Readout Laboratory (DRL).

The DRL is in the business of distributing information, data, and technology from numerous NASA missions, past, present, and future including Aqua, Terra, Aura, NPOESS (National Polar Orbiting Environmental Satellite System), and NPP (NPOESS Preparatory Program). Future missions named in NASA's Decadal Survey are currently also currently considering the DRL paradigm.

  • Designed, developed, and orchestrated the release of IPOPP (International Polar Orbiter Processing Package)
  • Created the first direct readout system for MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer)
