GST Names New Vice President of Business Development
Greenbelt, MD – Global Science & Technology, Inc. (GST), the region’s leading science and technology company, today proudly announced that John C. Chehansky accepted the position of Vice President of Business Development for the company. “We are very fortunate to have a person with John’s credentials to join the GST family,” said GST President Chieh-san Cheng. “John comes to us with a long and successful career in the Defense sector and with very impressive credentials from his tenure with the U.S. Navy as well. Without question, John will help lead our business development efforts to great heights.” Chehansky, who is no stranger to working as a Vice President of Business Development, is honored to join GST, noting the successful science and technology firm is a perfect fit. “I’m excited about this outstanding opportunity,” John explained. “GST is a world-class company well known in the government contracting community and around the nation. I especially appreciate GST’s reputation as an ethical company who’s management team possesses high moral principals and professional standards second to none.” John has an extensive and formidable resume coming to GST from Cubic Defense Applications, Inc. where he was Vice President of Business Development. He first entered the aerospace and defense industry in 1980 at General Dynamic’s Fort Worth Division where he was involved with the international sale of the F-16 aircraft. He spent 20 years with the company holding various positions of increasing responsibility in both marketing and program management, culminating his career (GDE Systems) as a division Vice President. In 2000, Mr. Chehansky joined ITT’s Avionics Division as Vice President and Director of Business Development, spending more than five years with the company at the division and sector headquarters level. John’s military background is equally impressive. After graduating from the Naval Academy, Mr. Chehansky served as a jet, carrier-based, fighter pilot and was decorated for significant combat experience during the Vietnam conflict. A US Navy “Top Gun” graduate, John culminated his active duty military career with a three-year tour as a demonstration pilot with the US Navy Flight Demonstration Team, the Blue Angels. He completed his association with the Navy serving in the Naval Reserve flying a variety of fighter aircraft. John also holds an airline transport pilot rating, commercial multi-engine and commercial flight engineer ratings. John and his wife, Marge, reside in Annapolis, MD and have one son and one daughter.
