DirectMet®, GOES-GVAR and MTSAT-HRIT Reception, Processing, and Analysis Ground System

The GST DirectMet system is an affordable end-to-end Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES)-GOES Variable Data (GVAR), Multi-Function Transport Satellite (MTSAT)-High Rate Information Transmission (HRIT), and FY2 ground system for the capture, display, and analysis of full resolution weather imagery data. The DirectMet system is a complete direct read-out system that includes antenna, feed, Low Noise Block (LNB), receiver, formatter, capture software, processing software, and display/analysis software including specialized tropical storm features.

Meteorologists, broadcasters, and educators worldwide use the DirectMet® ground system. GST has installed nearly 50 DirectMet systems around the world. The user-friendly system allows for customized product creation, selectable product format, and optional server/client configuration for multiple uses from a single reception system.

The tropical storm functions (Dvorak enhancement, Dvorak classification, and Log-10 Spiral locator) are very popular analysis tools that complement the grid/wdb overlay, color enhancements, radiometric enhancements, zoom/pan, and animation features of the system.

MTSAT-HRIT

For years GST has provided the DirectMet system for the GOES and Geostationary Meteorological Satellite (GMS) satellites. Now GST is proud to offer the versatile DirectMet ground system for the new MTSAT satellite and the higher resolution data format, HRIT. The same high-quality features of the current DirectMet system are available for MTSAT-HRIT.
