Chieh-san Cheng is President and CEO of Global Science & Technology, Inc.. Before co-founding GST, Mr. Cheng worked for a number of aerospace and technology companies that provided technical services to NASA, NOAA, and DoD. He subsequently developed a working knowledge of many aspects of the space technology industry, and in 1991, founded GST with the intention of providing a stimulating work environment within a family-friendly company. Mr. Cheng’s open-door policy and commitment to honesty and integrity have made Global Science & Technology unique, successful, and strong. The company retains a highly specialized workforce of scientists, engineers, and technologists, and has a unique set of capabilities in applied science and research, geospatial standards and services, advanced communication engineering, and specialized information technology.
Global Science & Technology has received national and international recognition and was recently ranked one of the fastest growing companies in the U.S. for the second consecutive year by both Inc Magazine and Deloitte & Touche. In October 2003, Global Science & Technology received the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center’s Contractor of the Year Award for Small Business/Service. Cheng received the “Minority Enterprise Development Small Business Person of the Year Award” by the Washington District Small Business Administration in November 1999, the first “National Award of Overseas Chinese Enterprises” by the Minister of Economics of Taiwan in September 1999, and 2004 Ernst & Young Finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year in Government IT Services category.
Mr. Cheng has Masters degrees in Technical Management from Johns Hopkins University and Meteorology from the University of Maryland.
